01Founded by

Ed & Jess Dunnett, founders.

Ed and Jess worked aboard superyachts across the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and beyond, and between them have more than a decade of yachting behind them.

Great coffee makes great days.

Their roots are in Onshore Cellars, the yacht wine supplier Jess founded. Onshore Roasters is built on the same idea: provisioning a yacht with a touch of luxury, real convenience and respect for the sea it sails on.

02Started at sea

9

years Jess spent working on yachts

Nine years of hunting for a decent coffee in port.

Jess grew up in Australia, with its coffee culture, and worked as a barista before she went to sea. Then came nine years working on yachts across the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and beyond.

In port after port, good coffee was the thing she could never count on: a great bag in one marina, whatever was on the shelf in the next. Onshore Roasters is the supplier she wanted then. Specialty coffee, roasted to order, that follows the boat.

03Why yachts

Provisioning coffee is not the same as buying it.

Provisioning coffee for a yacht is not the same as buying coffee. The boat moves, the crew changes, the guests arrive at short notice, and the one thing nobody wants to think about at 06:00 is whether there are beans left. We built Onshore Roasters around that problem.

Too often that meant ordering last-minute from whichever port the boat was in, and settling for whatever was available.

  • The boat moves: Antibes one week, Palma the next.
  • The crew changes, and so does whoever is on the machine.
  • Guests arrive at short notice, and they notice the coffee.

Whether you are a chief stew provisioning a 90-metre yacht or a captain stocking up before a transatlantic crossing, coffee should be one less thing to think about.

04Roasted to order

Roasted after you order, never before.

Every bag is roasted to order rather than pulled from stock, then shipped straight out: usually within two to three working days of your order. Nothing sits in a warehouse going stale on its way to you.

06To the boat

The logistics are our problem, not yours.

Tell us where you will be and we take it from there. The same coffee arrives on the same schedule, whichever port you happen to be in this month.

  • To the berth, the agent, the marina office, or home between seasons.
  • Our own driver across the Alpes-Maritimes and Monaco, or collect from Vallauris.
  • Tracked delivery across Europe, with the customs paperwork handled when it leaves the EU.
  • VAT worked out for the delivery address, before you pay.

Ports we deliver to include

07Our core values

A commitment to the seas that inspire us.

Years in yachting are what made us want to give something back to the water we work on. So the commitment is tied to what we sell: for every kilo of coffee that leaves us, a kilo of plastic is recovered from the ocean through CleanHub.

1 kg

of ocean plastic recovered for every kilo of coffee shipped

Working with us

Stock the kitchen, or the boat.

Order by the kilo for home or the office, ask for a priced quote for the season aboard, or apply for a trade account if you supply yachts.
